With a population of about 70,000, the Goto Islands of Nagasaki are located about 100 km west of Nagasaki Prefecture, at the edge of Japan's Kyushu region. They consist of 152 islands, both large and small, stretching 80 km in all different directions. The emerald green sea is enough to get you in the mood for a road trip! A Closer Look at the History of Churches in the Goto Islands of Nagasaki Prefecture Photo:Nakanoura Church in Kamigoto, Nagasaki Prefecture The history of Christianity on Nagasaki's Goto Islands began in 1566 with the arrival of Luis de Almeida and his group of missionaries to the island. Their missionary work led to the construction of many churches in the Goto Islands. During the Edo Period (1603-1868 A.D.), Christians were persecuted by the Tokugawa Shogunate in an effort to maintain the security of the country; 51 Catholic churches still remain to this day. The Christian Cave, Fukumi Catholic Church, Nakanoura Church, Kashigarashima Church, and Aosagaura Church are all fantastic spots we recommend checking out. The scenery of the historic churches is sure to be a great spot for your Instagram. The Goto Islands Have a Lot More To Offer Besides Beautiful Churches! Photo:Takahama Beach in Goto, Nagasaki Prefecture The Goto Islands in Nagasaki are thought to have been inhabited since the Paleolithic Period, and traces of human life have been discovered in Jomon (14,000 BC to 400 BC) and Yayoi (300 BC to 250 AD) period ruins. There's more to the islands than just churches! When traveling to the Goto Islands, we recommend booking an island tour. This video shows the Goto Islands in Nagasaki surrounded by nature, including Fukue Island (福江島) from 0:12, Hisaka Island (久賀島) from 0:52, Naru Island (奈留島, Narushima) from 1:08, and Nakadori Island (中通島) from 1:27. All of these islands are covered in natural landscapes for you to enjoy! There are many repeat visitors who come here for fishing and sightseeing. If you want to go swimming, we recommend beaches such as Takahama Beach, Hamagurihama Beach, Miyanohama Beach, and Hinoshima Beach. Also, everybody knows that when you're traveling, you've got to try the local food! The Goto Islands' specialties include Goto Udon noodles made with agodashi (seaweed soup stock), barley shochu (distilled spirits made from barley), Karasumi (dried mullet roe), and Diamond Salt. Don't forget to try the delicious seafood dishes made from locally caught fish as well! Summary of the Goto Islands and Churches in Nagasaki Prefecture Photo:Goto Islands, Nagasaki Prefecture In order to visit these beautiful churches, Nagasaki's Goto Islands can be accessed by ferry and airplane. Ferries to Fukue Port are available from Nagasaki and Hakata ports. If you plan to go to other islands, such as Hisaka Island, Naru Island, Nakadori Island, or Ojika Island, you will need to transfer from Fukue Port. Another option is to fly to Fukue Airport from Nagasaki and Fukuoka airports. Touring around the island is mainly done by bus, so we recommend taking a tour that includes a hotel and other services in a package. I bet after watching the video you're already packing your bags for the Goto Islands! Daisekirinzan in Kunigami District, Okinawa Prefecture This video, "Oishi Forest Mountain|A walk in the sky" (大石林山 空中散歩), was created by "Okinawaworld." Daisekirinzan is a mountain in Okinawa's Kunigami District, about a 3-minute drive from Cape Hedo (辺戸岬, hedo-misaki), the northernmost point of the main island of Okinawa. As seen from 0:15 in the video, the island has a karst landscape created by limestone from 250 million years ago. The many strange rock formations and beautiful scenery is reminiscent of Guilin in China, known for its depictions in ink paintings. Nearby is Ashimui (安須杜), which has been a sacred place since ancient times. From Cape Hedo, the mountains seem steep and forbidding, but once you actually enter the mountains, you'll find a peaceful paradise of subtropical flora and fauna. Most of Daisekirinzan is designated as a specially protected area of Yanbaru National Park. You can enjoy the magnificent nature of Yanbaru while making your way through the two main trekking courses. The History of Daisekirinzan Photo:Daisekirinzan, Okinawa Daisekirinzan is a "quasi-national park" in Okinawa, in accordance with the Natural Parks Act. The park is managed with the aim of protecting the beauty of nature and contributing to the health, recuperation, and knowledge of Japanese citizens. On September 15, 2016, along with the official designation of Yanbaru National Park, a part of the area previously designated as Okinawa Kaigan Quasi-National Park was transferred to Yanbaru National Park. Daisekirinzan is a must-visit sightseeing area in Okinawa, even winning the "Tripadvisor Excellence Award 2018" on TripAdvisor for the fifth consecutive year. The Two Main Trekking Courses of Daisekirinzan Photo:Banyan Tree in Oishi Forest Mountain, Okinawa ① Strange Rock / Churaumi Panorama Course As seen from 0:36 in the video, this is a course where you can experience the tropical karst landscape at the northernmost tip of Okinawa. It takes about 60 minutes to complete the 1,200m course. You can see the strange rocks and massive boulders from 0:45 in the video. In addition to strange rocks and boulders, there are also many places of worship, such as the "Stone Forest Wall," which is said to be full of spiritual power. There is also an observation deck where you can enjoy a panoramic view, and during good weather conditions, you can even see Yoron Island (与論島, yoron-to) and Okinoerabu Island (沖永良部島, okinoerabu-jima) in Kagoshima Prefecture (鹿児島県, kagoshima-ken). There is also a barrier-free course, which is 600 meters long and takes about 20 minutes to complete It's designed for the elderly and people in wheelchairs to enjoy. As seen from 2:00 in the video, there's also Eboshi-iwa Rock (鳥帽子岩) towering into the sky, as well as the mysterious Nabe-ike Pond (鍋池). ② Yanbaru Forest Course The Yanbaru Forest Course can be seen from 2:09 in the video. Even in the midst of Daisekirinzan, this is an area where the subtropical trees grow especially densely. It takes about 30 minutes to traverse the 1,000m-long course, and you can enjoy the magnificent natural scenery, including the huge banyan tree seen from 2:32 in the video. Summary of Daisekirinzan Photo:The Phantom Flower Mucuna Macrocarpa, Okinawa In addition to the two famous trekking courses, there are many other sightseeing spots in Daisekirinzan. The Okinawa Stone Culture Museum (沖縄石の文化博物館, okinawa-ishi no bunka hakubutsukan) is a geological and ethnic museum centered around Okinawan stones. Gajumaru Road (ガジュマルロード), also known as the "Path of the Wind" (風の道, kaze no michi) is a road winding along gorgeous scenery. If you're lucky, you might even get the chance to see the rare "Mucuna Macrocarpa," which grows naturally in the mountains of Yanbaru. Even Okinawans rarely come across this "phantom flower." In recent years, Daisekirinzan has been attracting attention as the largest spiritual area in Okinawa. It is a valuable video that shows us the state and production process of the workshop that makes the world-class precision watches "Grand Seiko." The commitment of these Watchmaker's cannot be overlooked! The Japanese Micro-Artist Studio Behind Grand Seiko Watches Source :YouTube screenshot Seiko Epson's Shiojiri office in the Koshinetsu region and the Suwa region of Nagano prefecture, introduced in this video, was established with the aim of inheriting the techniques of the watchmaker "Micro Artist Studio." "Every one must be beautiful," says watchmaker Yoshifusa Nakazawa, a watch assembler who continues to produce watches in this studio (0:50 in the video). Mr. Nakazawa has been active as a watch assembler since joining the company in 1978, and in 1981 won the World Skills Competition in Japan. In this workshop, the assembly of the movement (the part that controls the driving of the wristwatch), the installation of the dial, and the case insertion are all performed consistently, so that steps such as maintenance and overhaul can be easily performed. From 1:06 of the video, you can see how precisely each watch is assembled, sometimes using a microscope. From 3:23 in the video, he says, "Mr. Nakazawa inherits 100% of the technology of assembling watches, and the best watches are assembled neatly." What Is Grand Seiko's Original Mechanism the "Spring Drive"!? Source :YouTube screenshot The mechanism “spring drive” mounted on Grand Seiko, which can be seen from 2:51 in the video, is said to be a third engine that combines machinery and quartz. It has a history of 20 years as a model symbolizing the Grand Seiko brand. The model called "44GS" established the design of Seiko style in 1967. It lists three policies, which are as follows: 1. Design consisting of a plane and quadratic surface, with a plane as the main body. Cubic surfaces are not used in principle. 2. Increase the area of the flat surface as much as possible over all cases, dials and hands. 3. In principle, each surface is a mirror surface, and distortion from each mirror surface is minimized as much as possible. Based on this policy, the 44GS was designed with nine features. This Seiko style is designed to spice up the beauty of Japan. It considers the "light" of Japanese people, and those who hold it can feel the beauty of the Japanese in its undistorted, flat planes. Grand Seiko can be called a work packed with the aesthetic sense of Japan. Master Shops Where You Can Buy Limited Items From Grand Seiko Photo:SEIKO The Grand Seiko Master Shops refer to about 140 shops in Japan that have signed a contract with Seiko, and there are several types of limited models sold only to that master shop. Not only men models, but valuable diver models and ladies' models are popular as well. For a list of watches, see the official website. In addition, you can apply for battery replacement from the official website, so please check it out. Of course, Grand Seiko can also be purchased online. Summary of the Popular Japanese Watch Grand Seiko Source :YouTube screenshot Japan's proud Grand Seiko watches have a high reputation in Japan and around the world as watches with a history and ideology. At the end of the video, Nakazawa says, "I imagine that those who use Grand Seiko watches will hand them over to the next generation and pass them on." Why not get your own watch? One that has been created as a work of art that inherits Japanese technology. 【Official Website】Grand Seiko Official Site https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en -

A Mysterious Power Spot in a Valley Surrounded by Mountains? More About the Unexplored Area of Kizuro, Japan This video "Unexplored Japan (Kizuro) (日本の秘境 (木津呂))" was created by "hashieemov". Kizuro is an unexplored region in Japan in the town called Kiwa (紀和町, kiwachou). Kiwa is located in Kumano city, Mie prefecture in the Tokai region of Japan. It is one of the most uniquely structured settlements to be found in Japan and attracts many tourists as it is thought to be a power spot. It has also been featured in the Japanese TV show "Nani kore, Chinkyakkei" (What's this? 100 Famous, Bizarre Views) and looks identical to a location from the movie "Your name" (君の名は, kiminonawa). In this video, we introduce to you the Kizuro Village through aerial drone photography. Kizuro: An Unexplored Region of Japan. Why Is It Shaped So Strangely? Source :YouTube screenshot Kizuro Village is located in a basin surrounded by mountains in a town called Kiwa in Kumano city, Mie prefecture. It is situated in the center of a white, oval area of land with a river running through it. The unusual and unique shape of the terrain is one of the characteristics of this small, ancient settlement. You can take a look at the terrain from 0:07 in the video. Depending on which direction you look at it from, the terrain appears circular and the highest point from which you can see it is the top of Mt. Shimzau (嶋津山, shimazuyama) in Kumanogawa, Shingu in Wakayama prefecture. The mountain path is very steep and rugged so please take a map if you plan on climbing it. The mouth of the Kitayama river (北山川, kitayamagawa) which surrounds Kizuro Village is part of the Kumano pilgrimage which is registered as a World Heritage Site. The settelement of Kizuro is thought to have been formed approximately 1500 years ago after the eruption of a volcano caused the land to sink and was slowly eroded by the surrounding Kitagawa river, the shape of the settlement is still changing today. It has become a popular tourist spot because of its photographic terrain which looks similar to a UFO landing spot, with tour buses even operating in the area. There is an ancient practice in Asia called Feng Shui that can be used to forecast or predict fortune by reading the energy in an area. Feng Shui masters believe that the unique terrain surrounding Kizuro Village makes it a very important power spot. Being referred to as an "unexplored region" you would think that the area is very isolated, and therefore deserted, however in 2015 there were eleven people living in the area. The main industry is forestry, and lumber from the area (Kumano) is very valuable and is sold at a high price. Outdoor Activities in Kizuro, an Unexplored Region of Japan Photo:Camp In the opening of the video you can see a car, however there are very few car parks in the area and it could also be said that the access is rather inconvenient. However, a lot of outdoor activities can be enjoyed nearby such as camping, mountain climbing, an observation deck, rafting, Ikadanori and the flower grotto. It is a great spot to experience outdoor adventures! Kizuro Village Is Also a Popular Hot Spring Area Source :Official home page of the Yunokuchi Onsen The unexplored region of Kizuro is also popular as a hot spring area. Many people come to visit Yunokuchi Onsen which is surrounded by the Kumano mountains where the water is said to have healing benefits. Summary of Japan's Unexplored Kizuro Village Photo:Kizuro What do you think of Japan's Kizuro Village? If you decide to visit Kizuro Village, there are many other tourist spots you can enjoy in the area, such as the Maruyama-senmai Rice Field, Shishiiwa and Onigajou. You can access Kizuro from Kumano city center in approximately 60 minutes by car. -

Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning: Video Introduction This video, titled "2018 4K Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning" (2018 4K大室山・山焼き), was uploaded by "ATELIER ROCKY KALEIDOSCOPES GALLERY." The Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning is an exciting event where an entire mountain is engulfed in flames. The Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning, the symbol of Ito, Shizuoka, is not only a popular tourist attraction, but also a traditional winter event that heralds the arrival of spring in Izu. Please take a look at the aerial footage of showing the magnificent Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning via drone. Mt. Omuro and the Popular Anime Movie 'Your Name' Photo:Mt. Omuro, Ito, Shizuoka Mt.Omuro is a dormant volcano sitting at an elevation of 580m in Ito, Shizuoka, in Japan's Tokai region. At the top of the mountain is a 300-meter-wide, mortar-shaped crater left over from an eruption 4,000 years ago. Because of its unique shape, the mountain attracted a lot of attention among fans of the move Your Name, who speculated that it might have been the model for the mountain in Itomori, where Taki and Mitsuba, the main characters in the movie, met. Mt. Omuro Sengen Shrine is located halfway up the crater and is dedicated to the god of easy childbirth and matchmaking, and enshrines the Five Dhyani Buddhas. The entirety of Mt. Omuro is known as a power spot. Mt. Omuro is a popular tourist spot for climbers. For environmental conservation, climbers use the Mt. Omuro lift to climb to the top of the mountain. There is also a popular tour where you can walk around the mortar-shaped mountaintop while enjoying the spectacular view. You can also enjoy archery and delicious food on the summit as well, and there are also steamed buns with cherry blossom leaves being sold there, as well as a variety of other local specialties and souvenirs. Mt. Omuro is not only famous for its mountain burning, but is also known for its cherry blossoms in spring and foliage in autumn, so you can enjoy the beauty of Japan's four seasons year-round. Why Is Mt. Omuro Burned? The History of the Fiery Tradition Photo:Mt. Omuro mountain burning, Ito, Shizuoka The origin of the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning dates back approximately 700 years. Initially, it was done for the purpose of improving the growth of high-quality thatch, which was essential for people's lives, and for the purpose of pest control. There are 2 types of thatch: Kogaya and Tawaragaya. Kogaya was used for thatched roofs, as fertilizer for growing wheat, and as feed for cows and horses. It is said that Tawaragaya was used to make charcoal bales for packing charcoal, as charcoal production thrived on Mt. Omuro. The Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning has remained as a traditional event throughout its history, thanks to the efforts of the local people. In order to preserve the tradition of the mountain burning as a sightseeing event, as well as to pass on the skills of mountain burning, the local people formed the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning Preservation Society, which has continued to protect the event to this day while paying close attention to safety. Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning Festival 2023 Schedule Photo:Mt. Omuro mountain burning, Ito, Shizuoka Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023. Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning is held on the second Sunday in February every year, and will be held with the same schedule this year. However, the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning may be postponed due to weather conditions on the day of the event for safety and other concerns. For safety reasons, the event is postponed on windy days as well, so please check the official Ito Tourist Association website before visiting for sightseeing purposes. The 2022 festival was postponed until March 13. The fires on Mt. Omuro are lit from 9:30 a.m. at the bowl and from 12:00 p.m. for the rest of the mountain. Since it's expected to be crowded on the day of the event, it's recommended that you get there early. Also, if you want to participate in the lighting of the whole mountain burning with torches, participants are chosen on a first come, first served basis every year. However, no dates, numbers or prices have been announced at this time. If you would like to participate, please check the information in advance. The Best Spots to Watch the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning! Photo:The Mt. Omuro lift, Ito, Shizuoka Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning is a grand-scale event in which the entire mountain is engulfed in fire, so you can pretty much watch it from anywhere in the area. If you want to experience the flames up close, we recommend going near the Mt. Omuro lift. This is also the place where torches are lit for the all-mountain burning, so you can directly feel the heat and hot air from the burning mountain, making it a powerful spot. If you want to enjoy a panoramic view of the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning, we recommend Sakura no Sato. The parking lot is nearby, and it's only moderately crowded, so it's suitable for those who want to see the whole mountain. Also, if you have children with you, they may get bored while waiting for the mountain burning. In such a case, we recommend visiting Izu Shaboten Zoo. In the large park, you can enjoy not only the panoramic view of the mountain burning, but also 1,500 kinds of cacti, feeding animals, and petting capybaras. Your kids are sure to have a great time here! Summary of the Mt. Omuro Mountain Burning Mt. Omuro is a symbol of Izu, Ito, and Izu Kogen. Otsu Beach, Toyokoro, Hokkaido: Video Introduction This video, titled "[Jewelry Ice] Toyokoro, Otsu Beach, Near the Mouth of the Tokachi River|Mavic Pro 4K|Aerial Photography" ([ジュエリーアイス] 豊頃町 大津海岸 十勝川河口付近 Mavic Pro 4K 空撮), was uploaded by "Koichi Katayama" (片山昇一). Otsu Beach is located in Toyokoro, on Hokkaido, Japan's northernmost island and is a vast expanse of land overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It's known as one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hokkaido in recent years for its "Jewelry Ice," natural artwork created by nature. Among Hokkaido's many exciting tourist destinations, people are especially interested in seeing the jewelry ice. Enjoy the beautiful views of winter in Japan along with some relaxing music. [Video] 0:16 - A Fantastic Sunrise Over the Foggy Sea Where to See the Jewelry Ice – Otsu Beach in Toyokoro, Hokkaido Photo:Harunire Tree, Toyokoro, Hokkaido Toyokoro is located in Tokachi, Hokkaido. It takes about 40 minutes to reach from Obihiro by car. This city is near the mouth of the Tokachi River. It's called "The Birthplace of Tokachi" due to its history as the starting place where the Tokachi region expanded upstream from the mouth of the Tokachi River. This city's name came from the word "Toekoro." The name, meaning "The place where giant butterburs grow," comes from the Ainu language. From oceans and mountains to vast plains… Toyokoro is full of natural beauty. In addition to the sightseeing spots with beautiful waterside scenery such as Lake Choboshi (長節湖, Choboshiko) and Lake Yudo (湧洞湖, Yudoko), the town's symbol, the "Harunire Tree," is estimated to be 150 years old and is a popular photo spot where visitors can enjoy different expressions in each of Japan's four seasons. A short car ride will take you to the rich ocean, Otsu Beach, and Otsu Fishing Port (大津漁港, Otsugyoko), where you can see "jewelry ice." It's a relatively new, but popular, tourist attraction thanks to its beautiful scenery. Of course, the seafood here is delicious as well, so be sure to try some after sightseeing in the area. [Video] 0:59 - Mist Over the Tokachi River How Does the Jewelry Ice Form? When Can I see the Jewelry Ice? Photo:Jewlery ice, Toyokoro, Hokkaido "Jewelry ice" is a group of ice blocks that have washed up on the shore. This ice comes from the Tokachi River and flows to the Pacific Ocean. As the ice is battered by waves, the edges are removed and the ice becomes smooth, clear and crystal-like. The resulting product of this natural phenomenon is the beautiful jewelry ice. Jewelry ice, created by the severe cold of Tokachi and the Tokachi River, shines like a beautiful jewel in the sunlight. The jewelry ice changes its color beautifully from yellow, gold, orange, red, purple, and blue depending on the time of day, making it a popular destination for tourists and photographers alike. The best time to see the jewelry ice is usually from mid-January to late February on the sandy beach near the mouth of the Tokachi River in Otsu, Toyokoro. Photographing the Jewelry Ice at Sunset: Tips for Photographers Photo:Jewelry ice shining brightly at sunrise It's recommended that you take photos when the sun rises. By doing so, you can really capture the beauty of the natural phenomenon. Sunrise is from 6:40 - 7:00 a.m. in January and February. You should visit there around 30 to 60 minutes before the sunrise to take photos and prepare. Look for jewel-like clear ice or ice with mysterious holes created by nature, and take pictures by arranging the ice in a composition that takes into account the direction of the morning sunrise and the waves. It'll make for some amazing Instagram photos as well! Suffice it to say, you can easily take some amazing photos here. There's even a special page on Toyokoro's official website where information about the "jewelry ice" is updated daily. Be sure to check it out if you're visiting! Things to Be Careful of When Viewing the Jewelry Ice – Respect the Local Residents Please remember to be considerate of local residents around the area where jewelry ice can be seen, as there are residential areas in close proximity. If you're coming by car, please use the free parking lots, as cars are not allowed on the beach. Parking on the street is strictly prohibited, as it can inconvenience the local residents and obstruct access for emergency vehicles. Please remember to observe good manners, especially when visiting the site at night or early in the morning, particularly with regards to parking, noise, and disposing of trash. Summary of Jewelry Ice at Otsu Beach Photo:Jewelry ice and stars at Otsu Beach, Hokkaido Temperatures during this time of year, when thew jewelry ice can be seen, can drop below -20°C! The lowest temperatures are often recorded early in the morning, between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m., and taking into account windchill, etc., it can feel like it's -25°C to -30°C outside. Therefore, it's important to dress warm to protect yourself from the cold. Body temperature varies greatly depending on the strength of the wind and humidity, so please check the weather forecast and temperature in advance to be well prepared for your trip. It's also said that electronic devices (cell phones, cameras, etc.) should be kept warm with body warmers, as extremely low temperatures may temporarily cause batteries to drain faster. Be sure to fill a water bottle with a hot drink and drink it to stay warm while you admire the clear sparkling ice. If you end up visiting and taking some photos, we'd love to see them in our photo contests as well! [TripAdvisor] Otsu Beach -

Check Out the Introductory Video of the Genbi Shinkansen, Running Through Niigata “The ‘fun bullet train to ride’ in Niigata - Steps until its operation begins”(新潟の「のってたのしい列車」~現美新幹線・運行開始までの軌跡~) is a documentary video of the The Genbi Shinkansen. The word “Genbi” is an abbreviation of “Gendai Bijutsu (現代美術),” meaning “modern art” in Japanese. This train, limitedly operated by JR East Joetsu Shinkansen, belongs to the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center. When its operation started in 2016, the Genbi Shinkansen used to run between Echigoyuzawa Station to Niigata Station only within Niigata prefecture. After 2017, however, it now runs between Niigata Station and Tokyo Station as a travel-only train. It also runs from Sendai in Fukushima to Omiyama in Saitama for a special tour. In this three-minute video, you can see the production scene of the Genbi Shinkansen until its debut. Did you know that such a beautiful train runs in Japan...? What Is the Genbi Shinkansen? A Look at Its Designs! Source :YouTube screenshot The Genbi Shinkansen in Niigata attracts the attention of many people, as it’s known as the train of the “fastest art appreciation gallery in the world.” As a train with a brand-new concept of the “moving museum,” the Genbi Shinkansen displays many modern artworks made for this bullet train. The artwork on the body of the train, which you can see at 0:40 in the video, is designed by Japanese photographer Mika Ninagawa. The inside of the train was designed and created by a lot of artists. Many artists designed and created various exteriors and interiors, which make for great photos. In 2018, the exterior design was renewed; the Genbi Shinkansen became a more attractive bullet train. As of November 2019, the Genbi Shinkansen runs as a temporary train of the bullet train “Toki (No. 451-456),” making three round trips a day, mainly on Saturdays and holidays. It operates between Echigoyuzawa Station and Niigata Station within Niigata prefecture, which takes about 50 minutes. It stops at the following five stations: Echigoyuzawa Station, Urasa Station, Nagaoka Station, Tsubamesanjo Station, and Niigata Station. The Interior of the Genbi Shinkansen! Source :YouTube screenshot As seen at 0:59 in the video, people started to work on the interior of the Genbi Shinkansen at the Niigata Shinkansen Vehicle Center in February 2016. Artists started to move their artworks into the train on the very first day. From 1:32, the video shows each interior design of the Genbi Shinkansen. The 11th car (designed by the artist Nao Matsumoto), is a reserved seat car with limited express tickets, and is designed with the concept of the “five harvests,” “festivals,” and “lights,” while the 12th car (designed by the artist Yusuke Komuta) is designed with mirrors to reflect the world through its car windows. You can also enjoy each innovative contemporary art exhibit in the 14th car (designed by the photographer Naoki Ishikawa), the 15th car (designed by the artist Haruka Kojin), and the 16th car (designed by the artist Brian Alfred). In the 13th car, there is a playing room for kids with the toy Pla-rail (designed by the artist paramodel) and a café (designed by the artist Kentaro Kobuke), where you can enjoy drinks from Tsubame Coffee by Tatsuyuki Tanaka and sweet treats of the cake shop Romi-Unie. In the café space, you can also buy some railway items, including the N-scale model railway. Please find your favorite item there. The 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th cars have non-reserved seats where you can enjoy artworks. The Genbi Shinkansen was completed in March 2016 and its departure ceremony was celebrated on April 29, 2016, as you can see at 1:55 in the video. Aerial Footage of Autumn Leaves, a Sea of Clouds, and Snow on Mt. Oe: Video Introduction This video, titled "Autumn Leaves, a Sea of Clouds, and Snow Landscapes on Mt. Oe via Aerial Drone Footage 4K" (紅葉と雲海、雪の大江山空撮 Drone aerial 4K shooting of autumn leaves, sea of clouds, and Mt. Oe with snow makeup), was uploaded by "Office WADA." It features aerial drone photography of the Oe Mountains in Miyazu, Kyoto! You can see the seasonal changes of the mountains from Miyazu Bay to Amanohashidate and Nariaiji Temple in 3 minutes and 25 seconds. Enjoy the spectacular autumn leaves and sea of clouds, and the snowy mountains in winter, some of the most spectacular views of the Oe Mountains. The Fascinating Mt. Oe – Legends of Demons and a Sea of Clouds. The Model for Demon Slayer? Photo:A sea of clouds at Mt. Oe, Kyoto, Japan The Oe Mountains are mountain range consisting of four mountains, Nabezuka, Hatogatake, Senjogatake, and Akaishigatake, located in Fukuchiyama, Yosano, and Miyazu, Kyoto, in Japan's Kansai region. They sit at an elevation of 832.5 meters. The Oe Mountains are said to have been inhabited by a demon called "Shuten Doji" in the mid-Heian period, and there are legends of demon exterminations. These exterminations of demons appear in the Noh play "The Oe Mountains" (大江山, Oeyama) and in the ancient Japanese text Jikkunsho, in the "Song of the Oe Mountains." "The Song of the Oe Mountains" is a story about the young Koshikibu no Naishi, a master waka poet who appears in the Ogura Hyakunin Isshu and daughter of Izumi Shikibu, composing a poem so skillfully that Fujiwara no Sadayori, another master waka poet, makes fun of her, asking, "Did your mother write this poem for you?" The song tells of Koshikibu no Naishi beating Fujiwara no Sadayori in a battle of words. The Oe Mountains have attracted a lot of attention due to the popularity of the hit anime Demon Slayer. In the fall, the mountain is known for its sea of clouds, where fog rolls in between the mountains. Onitake Inari Shrine, located at the 8th station of the Oe Mountains and accessible by car, is also a spot with a superb view of the sea of clouds, and is popular as a picturesque spot for photographers and instagrammers. Sightseeing & Spectacular Views on Mt. Oe! When to See the Autumn Leaves and Sea of Clouds Photo:The sea of clouds at Mt. Oe from Onitake Inari Shrine One of the most fantastic and spectacular views of Mt. Oe is the sea of clouds, and in fact, the time of year when this sea of clouds can be seen coincides with the time of year when the leaves turn red. The autumn leaves can be seen from late October to late November on Mt. Oe. The sea of clouds can be seen from mid-October to early December. If the conditions are right, during the autumn foliage season, you may be able to see both the autumn foliage and a sea of clouds. A sea of clouds forms between mountains in the early morning when there is a large temperature difference from that of the previous day. It's a special sight because it can only be seen at certain times of day, but it is difficult to climb mountains early in the morning. Many people wish to view the sea of clouds from a place that is easily accessible by car, and as a matter of fact, there is such a place on Mt. Oe. That location is Onitake Inari Shrine, which is located at the 8th station of the Oe Mountains. Located at an elevation of 640 meters, this is a great place to view the surrounding mountains and sea of clouds. The area surrounding Onitake Inari Shrine is a rare primeval beech forest, where visitors can enjoy a vast sea of clouds and autumn leaves at the same time. It's the perfect spots for taking photos! Another Way to Enjoy Mt. Oe – Hiking Another way to enjoy sightseeing in the Oe Mountains is mountain climbing and hiking. The Oe Mountains consists of four mountains: Nabezuka, Hatogatake, Senjogatake, and Akaishigatake, and can be enjoyed by both casual hikers and advanced climbers alike. The Nabezuka course alone or the two-mountain course from Hatogatake to Senjogatake can be completed in a half-day hiking tour. Alternatively, you can challenge three or more mountains for a full-scale mountaineering expedition. We also recommend staying at a hotel in Fukuchiyama and enjoying your time over several days to carefully enjoy the spectacular views of the mountains while climbing. If you're not confident in your mountain climbing/hiking skills you can always ask for a guide. We recommend them because they can help you discover things that amateur climbers tend to overlook and also ensure your safety. Sightseeing at the Japanese Oni Exchange Museum – The Home of Shuten Doji Photo:The Japanese Oni Exchange Museum Here we'll introduce you to the legends of demons (oni) in the Oe Mountains, which have been passed down for generations. In the mid-Heian period (794-1185 A.D.), a terrifying oni named Shuten-doji lived in the Oe Mountains. Originally an exceptionally attractive human, he became a rampaging demon who ate people because of a grudge. This oni was also a great drunkard who could not be defeated by human powers alone. Minamoto no Yorimitsu was ordered to defeat this demon by making it drink sacred sake that was poisonous to demons. It's said that the demon Shuten Doji, who was "a demon consumed by alcohol," cursed Yorimitsu bitterly, calling him a coward, before he was beheaded. Besides the legend of Shuten-doji, there are two more legends of demons that have survived on Mt. Oe. Onitake Inari Shrine, located at the 8th station, is called the "home of demons." For those who wish to learn more, we recommend visiting the Japanese Oni Exchange Museum. The museum exhibits everything from the demons of Setsubun to legends of demons. It's a great way to enjoy the local culture of the Oe Mountains. Summary of Autumn Leaves and the Sea of Clouds at Mt. Oe If you're traveling to Mt. Oe to enjoy the autumn leaves and sea of clouds, we recommend visiting Onitake Inari Shrine in the early morning during November if you have the chance. On the way to Onitake Inari Shrine at the 8th station of the Oe Mountains from Prefectural Road No. 9 is the Village of Shuten-doji. This facility is also equipped with everything from tennis courts to barbecue houses, campgrounds, and lodges. If you're planning to stay near Mt. Oe to view the sea of clouds and autumn leaves, consider using the accommodations at the Village of Shuten-doji, which offers good access to Onitake Inari Shrine. 【TripAdvisor】Mt. This Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido Is a Natural Miracle Created by Nature. The Beautiful Scenery of This Popular Sightseeing Spot Fascinates All Who See It!

A Look at the Beautiful Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido This video, titled "[Superb View / Drone Film] Blue Pond Biei, Hokkaido [4K]" (【絶景/空撮】青い池 北海道美瑛町《4K》 "Blue Pond" Hokkaido), was released by "Noriyuki Ichikawa 《4K Drone Film》." When you hear the name Hokkaido, you probably think of gourmet food like miso ramen and seafood, or perhaps you know of the historical and cultural landmarks, such as Goryokaku or the Brick Warehouses in Otaru. However, if there's one thing we shouldn't forget, it's that Hokkaido is one of the most magnificent natural areas of Japan. One such place in Hokkaido, Biei, has the wonderous "Blue Pond" ("Aoi-Ike" in Japanese) that can be seen in the video. It's as popular as the lavender field in Biei, Furano (富良野). In this article, we'll introduce the Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido. Be sure to follow along with the video to see the beautiful natural landscapes of Hokkaido! The Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido Photo:The Blue Pond The "Blue Pond" is a famous tourist attraction located in Shirogane (白金), Biei, Kamikawa District (上川郡), Hokkaido. Its official name is "Shirogane Blue Pond." As the name suggests, the surface of the pond is a brilliant blue. By nature, the pond does not appear blue, but there is a reason for its color. In the vicinity of Blue Pond, there's the "Shirahige Falls" in the Shirogane Hot Springs area." Shirahige Falls has groundwater welling up from the inside of the cliffs and this water contains aluminum components. When the falls merge with Biei River (美瑛川), colloidal particles that are invisible to the naked eye are created and scatter the rays of sun evenly. The particles tend to scatter short-wavelength blue light, which makes the pond appear blue. In addition, the sulfur and lime components in the Shirogane Hot Spring water flowing from the side of the waterfall also complement the scattering of light, making the stones and rocks on the riverbed appear white. It enhances the blue color of the pond and creates a spectacular view like nothing you've seen before. The Conditions for Seeing the Beautiful Blue Pond Photo:Shirokane Aoi Pond in Biei, Hokkaido A visit to the "Shirogane Blue Pond" does not necessarily mean that you will see the Blue Pond. The keys to seeing the Blue Pond are "weather" and "time of day". It is not recommended to go on rainy days, as the water will increase and the colors become lighter and murky afterwards. That being said, you should check the weather before visiting Shirogane Blue Pond. A good time to visit is in the afternoon. 12:00 - 1:00 PM is generally the best time to visit. The angle of the sun is also an important factor. The angle of the sun will determine whether the colloid glow blue or not. Access To Biei, Hokkaido's Blue Pond Photo:Shirogane Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido Shirogane Blue Pond in Biei, Hokkaido is a 25-minute bus ride from Biei Station. Take the Tohoku Bus bound for Shirogane Onsen and get off at the "Shirogane Blue Pond Entrance" (白金青い池入口, Shirogane Aoi-ike Iriguchi. If you go via the JR line, it's recommended that you take the JR and drive or use the bus to get to Aoi Pond, as it's far from the nearest station. Parking lots are available for those who come by car. There are various sightseeing destinations around Blue Pond in Biei Town, Hokkaido that are popular as well; "Tokachidake Observatory," "Seidai Park," "Chiyoda no Oka Observation Deck," "Sanai no Oka Observatory Park," "Shinei no Oka Observation Park," and "Shikisai-no-oka Hill." Be sure to check these out as well if you have the chance.
